Message Wednesday: Impression

Galatians 1:10 states….
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Who are you trying to impress?…..
This is the question that everyone should answer when it comes to their relationship with God, Christ and with people. Who are you constantly seeking approval from? Is it your friends, family, co-workers, spouse or Christ? Whose opinion and word are you seeking validation on your life about? Whose viewpoint carries more weight? If Jesus Christ and the Word of GOD is not your answer to these questions, then you are in danger of breaking commandment number two Thou shalt have no other gods before me. How is that? If you seek after man’s approval or impressing man more than GOD’s, then you have placed yourself in the category of idol-worship. Instead of seeking GOD, you seek after approval from men and their view on your life.

Throughout time, many people have gone beyond normalcy or normal behavior trying to impress a person. Many have went into debt to not only “keep up with the Joneses” but trying to impress the Joneses. People have lost countless hours of sleep, time, hair and most importantly themselves all in the name of impressing a person or group of people that does not have the power or authority to send them to heaven or hell. Several  have been caught up in the web of persuading or convincing men to except them or value them, which in turn causes an individual to reject the one who sacrificed his life for theirs, Jesus Christ.

The bible states in Isaiah 5:14  Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure. In other words, on a daily basis hell is being filled with people that rejects GOD’s word but receives or has an open to the word of men. Hell is a place where room and space are constantly being made for those that have a strong desire to impress people over GOD. Just think about that for a second. People have more respect to hear from and impress their favorite musician, actor, athlete, and boss rather GOD. Keep in mind the people that an individual desires to impress did not create them or blow the breath of life into them but they receive more reverence than GOD. GOD help us!

In the opening scripture, Paul stated that if him not preaching the whole gospel caused him to impress or please men then he should not be counted as a servant of GOD. Who do you wanted be counted loyal to? GOD or men?
Only through true servant-hood to the Lord Jesus Christ is what GOD is looking for, especially in this last-hour.

Message Wednesday: The GOD Challenge

The other day I was surfing the web and came across a YouTube video called the banana/sprite challenge.

This challenge involves an individual eating two bananas and drinking a 2-liter Sprite without vomiting. Majority of the banana/sprite challenge videos that I watched ended up in a person vomiting.

As I sat back and watched these videos I began to think about other challenges online such as: charlie-charlie challenge, condom challenge, fire challenge and many more. As my mind is thinking on these things, I saw the willingness and unashamedness that these people (mainly young) were willing to put themselves through all for the sake of views, likes, and attention.

All challenges that are online (old & new) mainly involves a person degrading or humiliating themselves. This is clearly not a GOD-thing. The LORD has never called us to humiliate ourselves by being set on fire or being duct-taped to a tree but calls us to be
alive & free in His Son.

It’s quite sad that millions of young people are influenced by these silly and crazy challenges but rarely or many times never influenced by taking the “GOD  Challenge”. The GOD Challenge? The GOD Challenge is one that challenges a young person not to be conformed to this world. Which simply means not to be the same as or similar to what all  other youth are involved in.

The GOD Challenge, challenges a young person to put on Christ while everyone is putting on the world. The GOD challenge even challenges parents, to tell their children about the way of Christ and not leave it up to the school system, media and philosophies of the world to raise their children. The GOD Challenge teaches youth how to share their faith in Christ (evangelism) and not be a couch-potato Christian. The GOD Challenge causes us all to live a life dedicated to Christ, who took on the challenge of sin & death and overcame.

Message Wednesday: Limitations

Limitation a limiting condition; restrictive weakness; inability.
something that limits; a limit or bound; restriction (

How often do we place limitations on ourselves? If we were to be honest, the answer would be majority of the time. How many times have you doubted yourself? How many times have you allowed others to place limitations/restrictions on you? By saying:
“you can’t do this or that”, “you’re too old/young” or “you’re not qualified”.
Limitations are similar to restraints or weights that can slow down and usually hinder an individual from completing their assignment, fulfilling purpose and arriving at their destiny that the LORD has for their lives.

Take for instance, brother Moses in the book of Exodus. GOD’s chosen people the Israelites are held captive in Egypt. GOD hears their cry, see’s their afflictions and chooses a leader that will be their deliverer, Moses. Now lets break this down. When GOD saw the Israelites affliction; he raised up a leader that was capable of handling pressure, able to give instruction, and able to stand against opposition.

Notice GOD did not see Moses’ limitations but saw his greatness. But, Moses on the other hand when called upon to lead began to list his limitations or inabilities to GOD: not eloquent, slow of speech and a slow tongue. By listing his limits, the LORD became angry against Moses. Why? Because when GOD ordains and appoints you to a specific assignment or calling, he sees potential in his investment.

I have come to the realization that I have the ability and mindset to accomplish any and every goal or task that is aligned with the will of GOD for my life. The Lord Jesus states in Matthew 19:26 “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible”. In man’s eyes you may not be qualified but with GOD, He has invested His spirit, His will and His purpose in you.

Message Wednesday: The Comfortable Christian

Comfortablebeing in a state of physical or mental comfort; contented and undisturbed; at ease (

One person that satan really loves is a “comfortable christian”. Yes,
a “comfortable christian”. The comfortable-christian is one that is not on their Christian duty, which requires serving, sacrifice and giving. This individual does not go out beyond the four corners of their local church or out into their local community to make an impact for Christ (Matt 28:19).

The comfortable-christian is a person that is satisfied with their regular church attendance, satisfied with the traditions, festivities/activities of the church and believes in their mind that GOD is actually pleased with them. The comfortable-christian is a person that turns a blind eye to the people in their family, friends, and the world that are in need of the Gospel (Good News) while at the same time expecting the people to automatically be changed.

Much like the men in Luke 9:57-62, comfortable-christians make excuses why they cannot live a fully committed life of discipleship unto Christ. This individual has not truly counted up the cost to carry their cross but has other affairs that seem more important to accomplish. Luke 9:62 describes this person as “unfit” for the kingdom of GOD.

The difference between comfortable-christians and radical-christians is one that takes action in backing up their talk with a walk by pushing the gospel (radical-christian), while the other just talks the talk with no walk and never stepping out the boat

The bible says in Luke 10:2 “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few”. I pray that GOD wake up and shake up every comfortable-christian, that he/she will be about the fathers business and realize that soldiers are needed on the battlefield in this hour.

“To influence the culture is to impact the culture”

The question is, How are you impacting the culture, the environment and the community that you are in and around? Are you being an effective witness and light? Are you bringing the change that Christ has placed in you? Or, Is the culture changing you? These are just a few questions that every believer must ask: Am I being the “impact” that GOD and Christ desires me to be in this lost and dying world?

A “Light House” is an tower or other structure displaying or flashing a very bright light for the guidance of ships in avoiding dangerous areas, in following certain routes, etc ( So, a light-house is in the business of guiding ships that have either lost direction, fell off course and entering into dangerous water areas that needs assistant in getting them back on the path of the ships original destination. Notice the light-house is placed by the dangerous waters, so that its’ presence can be seen by a ship amongst the dangerous waters.

WOW!! This is exactly what the Gospel (good news) does, it guides mankind from sin (dangerous waters) and back onto their original destination of fellowship and relationship with GOD.The believer needs to do the same. A believers life is not involved in the actual danger waters of  the sinners lifestyle or worldly lifestyle but is in the midst of displaying and flashing a light that draws the culture into an area that is pleasing to GOD (original destination).

Matthew 5:15 states Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. In other words, believers should not be hiding their light but showing their light for all to see and be impacted by.

My new favorite verse in the bible is John 9:5  As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. This of course is Jesus talking about himself but we (followers of Christ) can apply this same statement in our own lives. As long as Christians are alive on earth, he or she can be the light in their families, communities, jobs and wherever their journey maybe.

Message Wednesday: Unity of the Body

1 Corinthians 1:10
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment”.

Unity in the Body of Christ is definitely a must. Unity in the body is needed like never before; from evil that is running rampant in the world, the body of Christ must not be divided but united. The Lord Jesus Christ states in Mark 3:25,“And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand”. So if believers are divided over doctrine, traditions, or whatever the case maybe, then we (believers) cannot be successful as a whole in moving and establishing the Kingdom of GOD. Christians must keep in mind that satan our adversary is out to kill, steal and destroy especially “The Church”, in which Christ established and GOD placed his approval on. We must get beyond minor hiccups, minor setbacks, minor disagreements and come to agreement that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6) and push The Gospel (The Good News) forward.
